Aquilegia x 'McKana Giants'
Columbine
The tall and graceful Aquilegia in the McKana Group are heavy-flowering, large and brightly colored. By late spring to early summer they bear tall erect stems of upward facing or nodding large-spurred flowers that are strongly bicolored in a wide range of colors: rose, blue, yellow, white, pink and red. The outer petals are broad and open and the inner petals are tubular and have long pronounced spurs. Pretty golden stamens extend from the center of each flower. The colors tend toward the pastels and the overall effect is very striking in the flowerbed. Hummingbirds love columbine!
Columbine Growing and Maintenance Tips:
Grow Columbine in full sun to partial shade and fertile well-drained soil that’s evenly moist. The more sunlight the more important it is the soil has available moisture.
