Echinacea 'Hot Papaya'
Coneflower
A double-flowered Coneflower, 'Hot Papaya' has drooping ray petals of papaya-orange, surrounding a pompom center of red-orange that does not fade. Ideal for sunny borders and growing in mixed containers, echinacea are excellent for cutting. Stems are strong to hold its big bloom and boast maroon markings with thick, dark green leaves. Coneflowers begin blooming in midsummer and continue for months if faded flowers are regularly removed, but leave the last of the blooms on the stems and the seedheads will be visited by songbirds in winter.
