Anemone hupehensis 'September Charm'
Japanese Windflower
Anemone hupehensis 'September Charm' has beautiful rose-pink flowers that are suspended above the foliage and seem to dance in the wind, giving it the common name "Windflower". Easily grown in average soil in full sun or part shade, Anemone's blooms appear from late summer to fall and are attractive to bees. The branching stems of poppy-like flowers are superb for cutting. Plants prefer a rich, moist site, spreading to form a large patch. 'September Charm' features single, rose-pink flowers, each petal darker on the backside. Use a winter mulch in colder regions, particularly if planting in the fall. Easily divided in early spring.
Japanese Windflower Growing and Maintenance Tips:
Deadhead for a tidy look and to encourage blooms. Slower grower and not as tall as other cultivars. Plant with spring bulbs.
